A new and breathtaking architectural hotspot is ‘Sluishuis’. After climbing the 200 steps you will have a majestic view on the lake and on Amsterdam, from the South East Ajax Arena till the North West harbor.  A must see, on only 10 minutes’ walk.

Another hotspot is the IJburg beach where one looks at the island from the lake. Situated at the Southwest it is the ultimate place to experience the sunset and sit at the cozy restaurant ‘De Japanner’, or just sit down on the beach looking over the water.

Ofcourse Amsterdam Centre is nearby: You can take a tram just around the corner, which brings you to the Central Station in approximately ten minutes, so downtown Amsterdam is virtually at arms’ length!

The Lonely Planet has ranked Amsterdam second on its list of the 10 best cities to visit. It has the appeal of a metropolis, yet at the same time it doesn’t seem bigger than an oversized village, full of little wonders to explore. The many points of interest and events make Amsterdam the place to be!

Hop aboard a boat to glide past mansions standing in all their glory aside the shimmering canals. Viewing Amsterdam from the water is astonishing. Or you could choose to experience Amsterdam as many of the locals do, as the best cycling city in the world. Discover the cultural secrets packed into Amsterdam, like courtyards tucked behind 17th century old facades, or a hidden church in a merchant’s house. And do as the locals do: Sit back and relax with a coffee in one of the many cafés. There is one for every mood and occasion, before dancing the night away or for brandies after a classical concert. Laze in one of the numerous parks, visit an organic market or the ‘negen straatjes’ (nine streets) in the Jordaan district.
