Transport from Amsterdam Airport
The public transport in the Netherlands is very well organized. The Amsterdam Airport is located just below the city and is easily accessible by train. Underneath the airport is a train station. From here you will get to Amsterdam Central Station within 20 minutes. Here you take the bus, metro or tram to other parts of the city.

It is also possible to arrive to the city centre by taxi from the airport. Please note that taxis in the Netherlands are not cheap. A taxi to the city centre is very expensive.

Within 20 minutes you can be in downtown Amsterdam from IJburg. Here you have all the tourist attractions within easy reach. The surroundings of Amsterdam have so much more to offer. From Central Station you can visit the Zaanse Schans within 20 minutes by train. Here you will find beautiful windmills and crafts. You can also reach the famous cheese market in Alkmaar and the beach and castle of Amsterdam within 30 minutes by train. Amsterdam is not only a great place to visit, but is also an excellent base to explore the rest of the Netherlands.
